smaller groups?

Out of those 12 guys, Jesus spent most of His time with just 3 of them…  Peter, James and John… much of that time, just one on one with John.  Then Matthew quotes Jesus…. where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”  hmmmmmm…  Seems like He is into much smaller groups than Philip was talking about.

Of course, Philip knows that bigger is always better… I mean… if Jesus said He would be there with 2 or 3…. just think what would happen… if…   where two or three thousand have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”   Wow… just think what we could do for God with thousands in our gatherings… think of the offerings… think of all we could accomplish with all that money!

Uggh!   Jesus never suggested thousands.  That is Phil wanting to do great things… that is also Phil’s natural man looking for all that baloney I have been writing about… the adulation, recognition, thrills etc… not to mention the “money”… another uggh!

Reminds me of one of the twelve guys… he took care of the money bag… helped himself to what was in the bag on a regular basis… then sold Him out for 30 pieces of silver.  The guy’s name could have been Phil Wolff… God’s man of faith and power living from the gospel.  So thankful for His forgiveness.

Two or three sharing life around the dinner table works… it is a great thing. No one in charge, no one controlling…  just encouraging each other in our walk with Him… ’cause there is always more of Him to discover, as He reveals Himself to us…

There is something even better than two or three though…. on the morrow!
