as I walk… walking thru life…

We love the great task… the doing of great things… so we translate scripture to satisfy that need of my natural man… and we say Jesus said:   “Go… into all the world and…” …do great things for me…?     … so…  the first thing Philip is told on June 24th, 1968 is that he has 2 options now… to go  off to bible school and become a preacher… or… if we are too old to do that, then we need  to go  to the mission field.

I did become a preacher… and  finally repented  and asked God to forgive me for missing Him so badly… sorry… it is not about the  highest good  is to be a preacher….

We also lived in Morrisville, VT for 22 years where we were unable to build a relationship with any of our neighbor’s in all that time… not with either of our next door neighbors, nor our behind us neighbors, nor those neighbors across from us.  Just the folks on the corner who asked us to rent rooms for them as the  “B&B’s Annex” … and then with the ladies that purchased the house from them…who became very good friends…. that was it…. in 22 years…. hmmmmm…

What’s wrong with this picture…. it begs the question…  “Lord… you want Philip  to go   to the jungles of Bolivia…. to another culture… another language, another whole way of life… when he can’t even communicate to the folks next door?”

The Greek for that bible quote actually means:    “Going… as you go…”  as you walk thru life… simply being who you are… where you are….  oh my… how uncomplicated that is.  Does not appeal to my  natural man  in any way whatsoever…

But… regardless where He has placed us… we do need to be wearing the right shoes….   as we go…  remember… there is a war going on  wherever we are…. and… there are always casualties….

Perhaps all who shared experience that was the Village Victorian should leave a comment here as an encouragement to Philip and Ellen.
