the corpsmen…

once we  start  walking… once we  start  following Him… the battle picks up… so many  wounded  to care for…  Philip – being a paid professional Medic/Corpsman – it was my responsibility to  care for  all the casualties…  just think…. when the medic had that Red Cross on his helmet and the Red Cross band on his arm… the  enemy zeroed in on him  for the kill… any leaders... same thing… don’t wear that bar on your helmet lieutenant… makes you a prime target…  it’s the same thing in spiritual warfare...

But… I was taught and taught others that the  highest good  was to wear my rank right out there on my helmet…   Pastor… Elder… Lead Elder…. Reverend… Doctor… Bishop….. Medic… Corpsman… Lieutenant… General…. and on and on and on….   and I loved it!  Responsibilities and giftings became  titles… and what  natural man  does not love that  title… that recognition…. that feeling of importance…

What if…. we had been taught that paid professionals was  never God’s way  to care for His people.  Casualty rates  on any battlefield are highest among the guys wearing the symbols on their helmets… same thing on the spiritual battlefields…

What if…  we were taught to simply  follow Him… get filled with  His Healer,  His Holy Spirit… who would care for us and bring us safely thru all the battles…. hmmmmm….

Here’s a story…. my personal experience… when I was setting up that network of 250 Churches to handle all the referrals from the 700 Club broadcasts in the Metropolitan New York area…. I sat down with all of the Pastors… many I took out to lunch…. and ended up crying out to God….  “I don’t get it Lord…. you want me to send all these wounded bleeding people to these wounded bleeding pastors…  to take care of them?”
